Double-click on the Internet Explorer Icon on your desktop.
If the system asks if you want to go on-line,
click on the Work Offline button.
STEP 2
When the Internet Explorer window opens,
select the Internet Options entry from the
Tools pull-down menu.
STEP 3
Select the Connections Tab in the Internet Options window.
Click on the Add button in the Dial-up and Virtual Private
Network Settings section.
NOTE: Windows 95/98/ME are different from this point on.
If you are installing the dialer on those operating systems,
Skip to STEP 8.
STEP 4
Select the Dial-up to private network option.
Click on the circular button to select it
(dot will appear inside circle)
Click the Next button.
STEP 5
Insert the appropriate local phone number in the phone number
box in the New Connection Wizard box.
Then click the Next button.
Please note that some areas require dialing 10 digits
(including the area code) even if you're dialing within
the same area code. Check with your phone company
if you are unsure about this.
STEP 6
When you get to the Finished page, type Pelican Coast
(or FamilySmart depending on which service you're using)
as the name of this connection.
STEP 7
In the Dial-up settings section
enter your Login ID in the User Name box.
Enter your password in the Password box.
(your password will display as a series of dots or asterisks)
Click the OK button.
Close Internet Explorer.
Open it again and the dialer should appear.
Click the Connect button to access the Internet.
Skip to STEP 12 if you are using Windows 2000 or XP
STEPS 8 – 11 below are only for Windows 95/98/ME
STEP 8 - Windows 95/98/ME Only
In the Make New Connection window, type in FamilySmart and
click the Next button.
STEP 9 – Windows 95/98/ME Only
Type in the Area code and Telephone number to be dialed
for access in the appropriate boxes.
Click the Next button.
STEP 10 – Windows 95/98/ME Only
Clicking the Finish button should complete the dial-up settings.
The next steps will change the Proxy Settings.
STEP 11 – Windows 95/98/ME Only
Once the dialer is established and the Finish button
has been clicked, the Internet Options windows should appear.
Highlight the Pelican Coast Dialer by clicking on it once
and then click the Settings button on the right.
STEP 12
When the Internet Options window appears, highlight
the Pelican Coast entry by clicking on it once and then
click the Set Default button to make it your default dialer.
(Pelican Coast should appear next to the word Current to the
left of the Set Default button)
Cick on the OK button and the window closes.
You are now done.
Close Internet Explorer.
Open it again and the dialer should appear.
Click the Connect button to access the Internet.
